Wookies, Mandalorians, Bith, Rodians, Mustafarians and Corellian alike will brave the heat and humidity of August in Orlando this week, as Star Wars Celebration VI gets underway, beginning this Thursday and running through Sunday. The official, Lucasfilm-backed, Star Wars convention, Celebration is always a big deal for Star Wars fans, with a ton to do and see, and a place where a lot of new reveals are made and footage debuted.

This year has a busier than ever schedule, which includes Q&As with beloved Star Wars icons like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Warwick Davis and Ian McDiarmid, plus appearances by more recent inclusions to the Star Wars universe like Sam Witwer (The Force Unleashed) and his fellow voice actors from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, including James Arnold Taylor, Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein and Dee Bradley Baker. They’ll also be looks at what’s to come in upcoming Star Wars comic books, a preview of the Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones 3D release and much more.

I’m going to be attending Celebration and covering several panels for IGN. As I looked over the schedule, here are the five things I’m most curious and excited for…

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 Premiere and Preview

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has turned into an incredibly compelling and cool aspect of the Star Wars saga, delving into some surprisingly dark and edgy storylines through the years. The animated series will have its biggest presence yet at Star Wars Celebration, with the Season 5 premiere episode debuting at the convention on Friday night, giving fans the chance to see what happens next, on the heels of Darth Maul’s return at the end of Season 4. But that’s not all by a long shot – there are several Clone Wars-oriented panels planned, with supervising director Dave Filoni set to discuss what’s to come as Season 5 continues, and to no doubt debut some cool new footage and make some big revelations, as he has at previous Celebrations.

Star Wars 1313

We’re already extremely excited about this upcoming Star Wars video game, set within the criminal underworld of Coruscant. On the heels of recently released new trailer that has only increased the buzz, we’re not sure what will be shown or revealed about the game at the 1313 panel on Thursday at Celebration – but we can’t wait to find out.

An Evening with Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is a familiar presence at conventions, known for his very funny, very off the cuff and very vulgar “anything goes” Q&As with his audiences. Smith’s love of and connection to Star Wars goes way back, but in his first Celebration appearance, it’s hard not to wonder if he’ll be going quite as far as he usually does, or be a bit more PG. We’ll likely find out his intent quickly, depending on whether there’s a warning about language over the PA system as this panel begins Thursday night! The relatively late time of the panel (7pm-9pm), hints that this won’t be a fully restrained Smith though… So expect some rather off color Star Wars jokes and observations...

Indiana Jones Blu-ray Preview

At long last, the world’s most beloved archeologist is getting the Blu-ray set he deserves! Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures Blu-ray collection is coming to stores in September, but Celebration attendees will get a preview of what to expect at a panel on Sunday, where we expect some of the special features will be presented. Better still, original Indiana Jones crew – including producer Robert Watts, sound designer Ben Burtt, and modelmaker Lorne Peterson -- will be on hand to talk about the making of the films.

Seth Green and Matt Senreich's Star Wars Animated Series

We’ve heard about this series -- a comedic Star Wars animated series from Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich -- for a couple of years now. But, like most Star Wars projects early on, the specifics about the show, including the style, tone and characters, have been shrouded in mystery. But at Star Wars Celebration, Green, Senreich and their collaborator, Todd Grimes, will hold two different panels at which they will finally give us some details about this project and, one would hope, debut some of the first footage, or, at the least, some imagery from the series.
